Game Rules

Draft under legal review: this text may still change before launch.
What applies inside Pocket World Online so the game is fair and fun for everyone, and what happens to those who do not respect it.
1. Fair play
It is forbidden to:
- Use bots, macros, auto-clickers or scripts that play for you, even while you sit at the computer.
- Use modified clients, tools that read or change the Game's memory (such as Cheat Engine), or tools that intercept or forge packets.
- Exploit bugs in the Game instead of reporting them.
- Sell, buy or trade accounts, characters, Pokémon, items or money for real money or for anything outside the Game.
- Share your account or let someone else play on it.
2. Respect
It is also forbidden to:
- Harass, threaten or insult other players, or discriminate for any reason.
- Share other people's personal details.
- Post sexual, violent or illegal content.
- Spam or advertise, or pretend to be a member of staff.
3. Names
Offensive or misleading names, or names that imitate staff, will be locked, and the character stays in the temple until it is renamed.
4. Bugs
Found a bug? Tell the staff on Discord. Reporting a bug helps the Game; exploiting it gets you punished.
5. Presence checks
From time to time the Game may open a window with a simple question. Answer within 2 minutes. A wrong answer or no answer disconnects the character and counts as evidence in the bot review. On its own it never leads to a ban.
6. Client protection
The client checks whether other programs read the Game's memory or send keys and clicks for you. Staff and automatic systems review those results.
7. Penalties
The penalty depends on how serious the offence is and whether it is repeated: a warning, a suspension of 1 to 30 days or a permanent ban. It applies to the whole account, and anyone who tries to get around it with another account or IP address is banned permanently.
Items, money and Pokémon obtained by cheating are removed, including from the accounts that received them. Bot bans usually go out in weekly batches.
Players penalised for breaking the rules do not get purchases refunded, except where the law requires it.
8. Appeals
If you think a penalty was a mistake, open a ticket on the Support page, https://pocketworldonline.com/en/support/, in the "Account" category, within 30 days. A suspended account cannot sign in, so open it signed out with the account's email address. A member of staff reviews every case and replies.
9. Account safety
Staff will never ask for your password. Be wary of sites, messages or programs that promise items, PokéCoins or advantages.
